ATV Quad Biking
Beginner, advanced and expert ATV and four-wheel riders will find sweet trails in Fruita, Colorado’s Rabbit Valley and North Fruita Desert areas. Take your adventure off road either on an ATV or motorcycle. Rabbit Valley and the North Fruita Desert are close enough to get you riding within minutes and offer varying degrees of difficulty and terrain.
Take a trip through the desert terrain of the Bookcliffs north of Fruita, choose a trail that will take you to the Colorado River south of town or do both. Bring your own ATV or check out rentals available in Fruita.

ATV Essentials
Rabbit Valley Trail System offers of trails of varying difficulty from beginner to advanced. The trails wind through the red rock canyons and take riders to the Colorado River.
An RV camping area is available at the trailheads. Trails are clearly marked.
North Fruita Desert offers trails from beginner to moderate. To reach the trail, you’ll have to drive west a few miles and take 16 Road north. Signage includes ATV trail access.

The trails are dirt and can be rocky. During the spring and fall, conditions can muddy and some signs are seasonally closed.

During the summer months, temperatures can reach 105 degrees so make sure you bring plenty of water.

  • Stay on designated ATV trails
  • No trail braiding
