Chatauquan John Stansfield Presentation – Devils Kitchen Picnic Area Come celebrate the Monument’s first ranger and promoter, John Otto, as Chatauquan John Stansfield shares stories from Otto’s life and work at the Monument.

11:00am – 2:30pm

Corkscrew Trail Guided Hike (3.3 miles, strenuous terrain) Join a ranger for a hike on the historic Corkscrew Trail, one of John Otto’s original footpaths into the Monument. Call for reservations.*

1:30pm – 2:30pm

Celebrating 100 years of John Otto’s Dream Watch this beautiful PBS documentary in the Visitor Center Auditorium.

2:30pm – 3:30pm

Canyon Rim Ramble Guided Hike (1.0 mile, easy terrain) Take a pleasant stroll along the Canyon Rim Trail with a Ranger to hear about John Otto’s work and life in the Monument.

3:00pm – 4:00pm

John Otto Presentation by Alan Kania Alan Kania, Author of John Otto Trial and Trails and Colorado National Monument; Images of America, will offer his perspective on this unique character in the Monument’s history. Book signing after the presentation.
